Sometimes it seems that we are constantly in "want" mode as we see something we want and then work to acquire it. Among other important things, you have to have some kind of solution that people are looking for in the market. You will of course need to choose your niche carefully as well as the products you wish to promote. Yes, we humans are very predictable, and one way that is demonstrated is by watching what they do during the buying cycle. Human beings are highly social and this very psychological factor plays a major role in creating and making more sales. Of course we are talking about using effective testimonials in marketing and sales copy. Testimonials give potential buyers some measure of reassurance, unless you are in the internet marketing niche which is a terribly jaded bunch of people. If you have no customers or testimonials, then that is all right because you can get people to review your product for you which is a legitimate practice.
You can't force people to buy something from you, no matter how good the product is that you're selling. If you want someone to buy your product, you need to show them exactly what they'll be getting out of it. We all want our products to appear to be the greatest thing, but that does not mean it is a good idea to embellish the facts. Your market has a need that your product has to fulfill if it is supposed to, and that is what you need to convey in a convincing manner. Once you start going down that road of the hard sell, your conversions will plummet. You have different approaches available to you, and so you pick the one that is appropriate and write your copy.
So work to build trust and good relationships, and then always offer them great products. This is something that takes continued effort on your part because people are willing to walk away from you if you lose their trust.
