Backlinks can help raise your site from the bottom on the barrel to the top of the search engine list. This kind of feat takes more than just good SEO tactics on your site. It takes a few quality backlinks from others.
Backlinks are links from other websites or blogs that link to your website. Some good backlinks will do more than anything you do on your own site.
When evaluating links for popularity, search engines like Google, MSN, and Yahoo, look at how often your site is linked to by an outside person. The more links you have, the better your site must be.

Qualtiy site content which is unique will be the main reason people will link to your site. You will benefit if your site is different and perhaps even controversial. If people view your site as special they will be more apt to link to it.
When other company’s approach you to join your site, allow them to, because this way you not only expose your company to potential customers, you can help other company’s as well.
Submitting your written articles to directories will allow them to be reprinted on other sites with a link to you in the Resource Box. Just one article could result in many backlinks. Hey – nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
almost more than half of the tips work for me ! yippy, i had an increase of 2000 visitors in two days !
Too cool! Bookmarking your blog and am going to start working through the archives as soon as I get time. Glad there’s someone out there writing about this with your attitude and honesty.
I personally think that as time goes on, methods of on-page and off-page SEO are going to differ as we think it. I think we will see a transformation to user factors in deciding SERP results. That combined with advanced personal SERP results and we’ll be seeing a large transformation of the searchers experience with Google and the other search engines. Every search result won’t be created alike, take a look at things like user involvement, bounce rate, bounce time, etc… Focus on a better site all around, and I think you’ll see better results in 2010.
