Rewriting PLR Articles And Ebooks: Who Will Do It?23 August 2011

Private Label Rights (PLR) articles and ebooks are great tools for making an internet business really lucrative; or, if already profitable, even more so. By using texts that are already composed, one may speed up the process of distributing those texts in a variety of places: as online articles, ebooks, and even as printed books.

The trouble is, however, that exploiting PLR material is not as easy or quick as many are trying to make it sound. For example, those who sell PLR content, and those who do business in the PLR world, many times wish to say that the practice of using PLR content is an easy road to success. But that may not necessarily be the case.

The Problem

The difficulty is this: to be able to make the most of it, one has to thoroughly edit the PLR content to a considerable extent, not just slightly. This is to guarantee that the search engine robots are going to index the text favourably, and to assure that the audience are not presented with articles and e-books that they have already read somewhere else.

So the challenge is to learn the art of rewriting PLR articles and PLR e-books so that the material will become significantly unique. One could rearrange paragraphs or even delete whole paragraphs. Or one might want to expand paragraphs and add new questions, points, arguments, reasons, or data. Or one may decide to insert illustrations, graphs, photographs, or videos. Anything to make the article or ebook have a special feel.

Who Has Time to Do It?

But perhaps are you now asking the question: "How in the whole world will I practically have time for that? After all, I bought the Private Label Rights products in the first place to avoid having to do a lot of work. So why am I now confronted with the very same work that I tried to avoid?"

It is true, of course, that the sort of work involved in rewriting a PLR ebook or article may be similar. But the actual amount of work is not very comparable. Rewriting and rearranging a PLR ebook or PLR article, even with a rather extensive rewrite, is much less time-consuming and agonizing than writing everything from the ground up.

Moreover, you may not have to do all that editing yourself either. You may draw on other parties to finalize the rewriting process.

Here are some interesting alternatives so that you can get the rewriting of your PLR article or PLR ebook done: (1) Utilize software; (2) Hire a ghostwriter; (3) Call a guest blogger; (4) Do it yourself.

1. Use Software

Some software products in the market can be used to change (or "spin") PLR ebooks and PLR articles to construct new articles and ebooks. But you must be very watchful. Some applications may modify the "feeling of the e-book or article, or use poorly selected synonyms for expressions and words that either can transform your article into gibberish or at least make it seem odd in some sense.

It is thus almost at all times essential to examine the newly generated content by hand after it has been processed by the software. It is quite likely that you may have to take a new round of rewriting after it has been "spinned".

2. Appoint an External Writer

Appoining a professional freelancer to create completely novel content to your website could be practically impossible for a new site owner, since really novel content might be quite expensive.

Nevertheless, since you already have picked up the PLR articles or e-books, the goal is not to create unique material from scratch, but only to do some editing using different words, and possibly also expanding on some of the premises and conclusions here and there.

It may be a useful idea to bundle up a dozen or two Private Label Rights articles at a time (or a whole PLR ebook), and then ask your ghostwriter for a "package price" for the full set. That way you may be able to get a better quote per page than if you just ordered one or two individual articles.

3. Use a Guest Blogger

Perhaps you could use a guest blogger to write on your blog? You may tell her or him that you have PLR material that she or he can utilize. That way you could generate new material for your blog without you being involved in any editing of your own.

One potential problem with such an idea might be, of course, that the freelancer may expect to get paid, or to be able to post some links to their own websites and blogs, or ask for some other compensation. You will have to see what they ask for, and then determine whether or not you think the particular arrangement is suitable for your purposes.

4. Rewrite It All On Your Own

If you are very much into writing (or at least are willing to do it even if you don't enjoy it), you might consider doing all (or some of) the rewriting yourself. Whatever the case may be, modifying a good-quality Private Label Rights article or e-book is considerably less problematic than writing everything from scratch.

The advantage of doing the job yourself is that you have absolute control over the final outcome, both stylistically and in terms of content. Supposedly you also have much knowledge of whatever subject matter it is that your articles and ebooks are about, and for that reason you might probably be capable of editing the PLR texts faster and better than a writer who doesn't have that background.

Summing Up

PLR ebooks and articles are great assets. But they must be significantly edited to be lucratively used in your internet business.

The good thing about all of this is that you don't necessarily have to do all of the rewriting and rearranging yourself (but the result may be superior if you do). Additional ways to produce a modification of the Private Label Rights content would be to use special "spinning" software system, to hire freelance ghost writers, or to contact a guest blog writer.

So go right ahead and stuff your website or blog with great, uniquely rewritten and sensitively repurposed PLR content. Your potential customers will appreciate it!
