Reasons For You To Do Real Life Shopping02 September 2011
A lot of people don't shop in actual stores anymore; they do all of their shopping online. Online shopping appeals to our lazier sides because we don't have to go anywhere. There are still some advantages to getting up and shopping at a store, though.
Any clothes you see online may look great, but there's one problem: you can't try them on. When you order that $80 pair of jeans that look so great online and they end up not fitting, it can be a real buzz kill.
No matter how many pictures or videos you see, you will always get a better feel for any product when you hold in your hands. Many things can be misrepresented online, and actually touching the item removes all doubts from your mind.
When you buy online, you have to wait for it to be delivered to you. A lot of stores give you a free shipping option but, even if this is offered, it always takes forever to get to you. So somebody who walks into Best Buy and buys an MP3 player can start listening to music that very day, while the person who bought it online will have to wait anywhere from five days to two weeks.
There's nothing like the instant satisfaction you receive from walking into a store, buying an item that day, and taking it home with you. Buying online and having stuff shipped to you robs you of this experience.
This is probably the biggest advantage when it comes to buying something from a store as opposed to online. Some people just prefer to be able to take something home the same day they pay for it.
Better hope you like the item you bought online, because returning online items is a major hassle. It can take an extremely long time to successfully return something, and you always end up going through a lot of drama.
Sometimes they won't even accept your claim. Some online companies are notorious for making the return process very troublesome, in hopes that the customer will just give up.
For all the trouble you go through trying to return something and having to take it to the post office or FedEx, you would have been better off buying it from a store. At least then you would only have to worry about waiting in line.
